More than 100 delegates from 28 member countries of the Organisation for Railway Co-operation (OSZD) attended the 50^th founding anniversary of the OSZD and the 34^th OSZD ministerial meeting in Sophia, Bulgaria, from June 12-15.

The Vietnamese delegation, headed by Director of the Railway General Department under the Ministry of Transport Vu Xuan Hong and Vietnamese Ambassador to Bulgaria Pham Quoc Bao, attended the event.

The meeting focused on the OSZD's activities over the past 50 years, as well as its important contributions to inter-continental transport between Asia and Europe. It launched a joint statement defining the activities of the OSZD in 2006-2016 period.

The railway systems of the OSZD member countries, with a total length of 276,000 kilometres, carry more than 3.2 billion passengers and 4.6 billion tonnes of goods every year.
