Trade and other ministers from six major World Trade Organisation (WTO) economies have concluded their two-day meeting in London without agreement on promoting the current Doha Round of global trade liberation talks.

The meeting was organised ahead of the deadline for WTO members to outline a comprehensive trade deal in the agricultural and industrial areas as agreed upon during the global trade watchdog's ministerial meeting held in Hong Kong at the end of last year.

The six member economies, including Australia, Brazil, the European Union, India, Japan and the United States, failed to plug the gaps in proposed farm trade liberalisation and the opening of the markets for industrial products.
