The seminar was organized by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) branch in HCM City in co-ordination with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation (KICOX).
Chae Byeong Yong, general director of KICOX and head of a business delegation from Chungbuk province, said RoK enterprises visiting to Vietnam this time operate mainly in industrial equipment, information technology, electronics, solar energy, food, fashion and cosmetics.
Korean businesses not only want to reinforce trade promotion and import-export activities, but also expect to develop brand names and direct links between enterprises, he noted.
Speaking at the event, Nguyen Doan Thong, a representative of VCCI HCM City branch, highly appreciated KICOX’s activities in creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese and Korean businesses to foster investment relations.
He also suggested that businesses of both nations should positively exchange information on products and prices to seek strategic partners.
In the last two years, the RoK has exceeded Japan to become Vietnam’s second largest supplier of goods, including garment accessories, footwear, machinery spare parts and plastics.
The RoK is also the fourth largest market importing Vietnamese goods, accounting for 4 percent of Vietnam’s export turnover.
