The Vietnam Asian Indoor Games III-Vietnam 2009 Organising Committee (VAIGOC) had a meeting with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Olympic Committee in Hanoi on July 15, discussing measures to step up preparations for the event.
The focus will be on organizing subcommittees, finalizing budget estimates, ensuring security, communication and food safety.
As for mobilization of sponsorship for the Games, marketing experts of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) estimated that Vietnam could get US$8-10 million from sponsorship contracts.
They already informed Vietnam of estimated expenses for which VAIGOC must pay OCA US$2.5 million in cash, equivalent to nearly one-third of total sponsorship contracts valued at US$8.5 million.
