A delegation of the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) has attended the “South African Women-Invention and Innovation” conference in Johannesburg during its visit from August 27 – September 2.

Addressing the conference, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, head of the Vietnamese delegation, shared the VWU's experience in encouraging women to actively study, work and maintain happy families.

The conference drew about 1,500 female inventors from member countries of the South Africa Development Community (SADC) and those of African origin in UK and the US. Vietnam was honoured as the only special guest from Asia.

During the visit, the Vietnamese delegation met with women representatives from South Africa’s Ministries of Public Works and Industry and Trade, and took part in the annual dialogue on women-related issues between capital Pretoria’s authorities and women.
