The Trade Promotion department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) held a ceremony in Hanoi on April 17 to announce the 30 outstanding trademarks that have been selected to take part in the National Trademark programme.

The programme aims to promote Vietnam’s image as a prestigious nation that produces high quality goods and has excellent services. More than 1,000 enterprises have registered for the programme, which started four years ago.

Most of the selected trademarks focus on garments and textiles, footwear, beverages, confectionary, tourism services, telecoms, construction, and interior wooden furniture.

Addressing the ceremony, deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan said that to win the confidence of foreign and local customers, it is necessary to have vanguard enterprises, which are able to build up their own trademarks.

The MoIT said April 20 will be observed as Vietnam Trademark Day.
