Two Vietnamese teams including 8 of the nation’s most excellent marathon runners will participate in the Greatest Race on Earth GROE 2008-2009 with the expectation of high rankings in the South Asian region.
Standard Chartered Bank, which has consistently supported Vietnamese marathon runners in previous years, will sponsor Vietnam’s teams for the first time to take part in GROE.
Delegations from another twenty-five countries worldwide will compete in the race. The first route will start in Nairobi, Kenya on October 26, 2008, the next from Singapore on December 7, 2008, the third from Mumbai, India on January 18, 2009 and the final will depart from Hong Kong on February 8, 2009.
During the first route beginning from Nairobi, two experienced Vietnamese marathon runners, Nguyen Van Long and Nguyen Thi My, will join in.
