Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan stated this at the awards ceremony of the fourth Innovation Contest launched by the Vietnam Fund for Supporting Technological Creations (VIFOTEC) and the Central Young Pioneers Council in Hanoi on September 7.

Mr Nhan called on education departments, school management boards and pupils’ parents across the country to respond to the contest and create good conditions for pupils to study and conduct research. He urged them to popularise the contest to every pupil, including those in remote and mountainous areas.

The organising board presented 75 awards to winners, including 1 special prize, five first prizes, 9 second prizes, 20 third prizes and 40 consolation prizes. In addition, 15 projects were chosen to attend an international exhibition in Taiwan in September and three projects were nominated for the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) award.
