New technological cooperation between Vietnam and India

Vietnam and India have great potential for cooperation in the areas of biotechnology, electronics, information technology and space research.

This was confirmed by a Vietnamese delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) after paying a working visit to India from September 9-17.

It said it had worked with four research centres of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) on the possibility of cooperation in agriculture and health care.

At a meeting in New Dehli on September 17, the delegation was informed that Indian delegation will attend a seminar in Vietnam in late November, to identify priority areas of biotechnological cooperation.

At another meeting, it agreed with the Indian Department of Electronics and Information Technology on the signing of cooperative agreement on network security and safety.

It also met with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) in Bangalore City to discuss measures to boost space cooperation, especially in the development of small satellites.
