Deputy PM hails strategic partnership with Germany

(VOV) - Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has said the strategic partnership between Vietnam and Germany has developed well in all areas over the years.

Germany is one of Vietnam’s largest trade partners in Europe, Nhan told newly-accredited ambassador Jutta Frasch at a reception in Hanoi on December 13.

He expressed his hope that the diplomat will make further contributions to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Deputy PM thanked the German government for supporting Vietnam in vocational training, and said the two sides will sign a memorandum of understanding on vocational training cooperation next week, aiming to improve workers’ skills.

Jutta Frasch highly valued Vietnam’s development potential and confirmed that the country is part of Germany’s development strategy.

She said she will work closely with relevant Vietnamese agencies to foster the partnership between the two countries.

She revealed that the German government will discuss with its Vietnamese counterpart how to attract private businesses to vocational training in Vietnam.

The diplomat said she will encourage German businesses operating in Vietnam to receive students on the probation period to improve their skills.
