Deputy PM visits Hungary

During talks in Budapest on July 29, Nhan and his Hungarian counterpart Semjen Zsolt expressed their delight at the constant development of the time-honoured friendship and multifaceted cooperation over the past 60 years and their wish to strengthen bilateral cooperation in agriculture, animal husbandry, clean water supply, culture and tourism.

They discussed ways to improve the operational efficiency of the Joint Economic Cooperation Committee, speed up the implementation of Hungarian-funded projects in Vietnam and share scientific and technological management experience with a view to early signing an agreement on technical management and research on utilizing atomic energy for peaceful purposes between the two governments.

It is imperative to boost education-training cooperation with a focus on training human resources in atomic power and developing the Vietnam-Hungary University into an advanced training centre in Vietnam, they said.

Deputy PM Nhan affirmed Vietnam’s willingness to facilitate Hungarian investment in the country.

In reply, Deputy PM Semjen Zsolt said Hungary regards Vietnam as an important partner in its international assistance policy and is willing to enhance cooperation with Vietnam in potential areas.

Hungary will continue to create favourable conditions for the Vietnamese community to reside and do business in the country, he added.

Both sides also agreed to further strengthen collaboration at the UN and other international forums.

After the talks, the two leaders witnessed the signing of an exchange programme between the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the Hungarian Human Resources Ministry for the 2013-2015 period.

Nhan and his entourage later visited the Paks nuclear power plant, 120 km from Budapest.
