Quang Liem now finishes first at 2013 Spice Cup
(VOV) -Leading Vietnamese chess player Le Quang Liem has shared first place with Latvia’s Alexander Shabalov at the 2013 Spice Cup in Missouri, USA, on October 18.
Turkish player Alexander Ipatov (Elo 2625) finished second, followed by American Mackenzie Molner (Elo 2493) in third.

Liem’s two consecutive draws contributed four points to his total.
Playing white in his match against Alexander Shabalov, Liem began aggressively but was forced to accept a draw four hours later.
Liem, playing black, also drew against Molner.
His next game is against Turkey’s U20 World Champion Alexander Ipatov.
The tournament was open to any contestant with an Elo of 2100 and above. Its prize pool totalled US$11,000.
