The Vietnam Archaeology Association (VAA) held its fourth congress in Hanoi on August 8.

The congress elected a 19-member Executive Board led by Associate Professor Hoang Xuan Chinh. It also elected former State President Tran Duc Luong as its Honorary President.

Under its adopted action plan, every year the association will make public new findings, and organise talks and training courses for researchers, teachers and students.

The VAA will also provide consultations for research projects and involve in exploring and excavating work as well as training in the field for universities and research institutes.
