The legislative bodies of Vietnam and China should boost cooperation and exchange of experience to better implement their development targets, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Truong Quang Duoc told a Chinese official in Hanoi on October 31.

While receiving Wen Shizhen, vice chairman of the Finance and Economics Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) of China, Mr Duoc said Vietnam is preparing to join the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and China's experience in socio-economic development and international integration is of great significance to Vietnam.

Mr Wen said his visit aims to boost the friendly and cooperative relations between the two legislatures. He affirmed the two countries’ determination to achieve set targets for people's welfare and share the common desire to promote bilateral cooperation.

The same day, the Chinese delegation held talks with the NA Committee for Economics and Budget led by Vice Chairman Tao Huu Phung. They exchanged information and experience in performing supervisory functions, particularly in implementing State budget tasks.

During their stay in Vietnam, the Chinese delegation will meet with the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Finance and visit the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh and Ho Chi Minh City.
