The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has met with 15 newly-appointed ambassadors of 20 countries to consult with them on expanding markets abroad.

VCCI President Vu Tien Loc informed the diplomats at a meeting on March 21 that the country now boasts over 100,000 licensed businesses, 2.9 million family businesses and over 200 professional associations of different industries. The business community therefore has a great demand for information on partners and markets abroad.

"With broad relations and deep understanding of their residential markets, ambassadors will be very helpful for business circles to save trade promotion costs and increase operation efficiency," Mr Loc told the ambassadors.

Ambassadors should act as a bridge for bringing Vietnamese goods to overseas markets, especially new outlets in Africa and America, said businesses at the meeting.
