The South-Central coastal province of Khanh Hoa has earned US$20 million from seafood exports in the first 20 days of June, bringing the total value of seafood exported so far this year to US$130 million.

This year Khanh Hoa set a target to export more than 45,000 tonnes of processed products to earn US$260 million. Despite experiencing a number of difficulties, local businesses have signed many new contracts.

In the first half of this year, the province exported 28,000 tonnes of processed products, accounting for 55 percent of the year’s target and up by 12 percent compared to the same period last year. Of this figure, cuttle fish accounted for 25 percent, other fish (30 percent), and shrimp (28 percent) with the rest being assorted shellfish.
