Photographic exhibition on Vietnam in France

(VOV) - A photographic exhibition on Vietnam before, during and after wartime opened in Paris on October 2.

The event aims to commemorate the 40-year career of Huynh Cong Ut, also known as Nick Ut, whose “Napalm girl” picture shocked the whole world.

The focus of his exhibition is a naked 9-year-old girl, Kim Phuc, running in flames away from her village bombed by the US army.

The “Napalm girl”, taken by Nick Ut in Trang Bang district in the southern province of Tay Ninh on June 18, 1972, won a Pulitzer award in the US one year later.

On display are 100 photos on peace and war in Vietnam and happy smiles, which revive among the Vietnamese community and international friends in France an unforgettable memory of the country.

Nick Ut said that after the exhibition, his photos will be kept in UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris.

A few months ago, he also released many photos of Vietnamese child victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin.
