Vietnam - Japan Festival 2022 kicks off in Da Nang
VOV.VN - Bien Dong Park in Son Tra district in the central coastal city of Da Nang welcomed the opening of the Vietnam - Japan Festival 2022 on July 14, featuring a wide range of cultural exchange activities and seminars focusing on education, tourism, and sports.
The festival was jointly held by the Da Nang Department of Foreign Affairs and the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang, along with contributions from relevant agencies and businesses of both countries.
The event itself is taking place as part of activities aimed at celebrating the upcoming 50th anniversary in 2023 of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
During the four-day function, organisers are expected to introduce an array of unique cultural characteristics of the two countries, including Vietnamese traditional theatre named Tuong, Japanese calligraphy, traditional and contemporary dances, Vietnamese and Japanese martial arts performance, and Japanese culinary arts
Ngo Thi Kim Yen, vice chairman of the Da Nang City People's Committee, revealed that the festival has contributed to enhancing mutual understanding and boosting cultural exchanges between the two countries, as well as deepening the ties of friendship that exists between Da Nang and Japanese localities and partners.
Yen went on to express her hope that the event will help visitors gain greater insights into the unique cultures of each country, which will therefore provide a solid foundation for in-depth co-operation in multiple fields moving forward.
