The report has been commissioned to help clarify the project’s objectives, its estimated investment and timescale for implementation, as well as its product category, the equipment and technology needed, total infrastructural facility investment, site clearance procedures and environmental protection measures.

Based on the report’s findings, and suggestions from the relevant ministries and branches, the Government will consider incorporating the project into its steel development plan, which runs until 2025.

The US$5 million steel plant is designed to produce between 6 and 10 billion tonnes of crude steel per year. All exhaust gases produced during the production process will be reused for the generation of power.
