Coinciding with the event was the 14th HCM City Traditional Martial Arts Festival, which drew 85 teams competing in 30 categories. A total of 680 medals, including 170 gold, 170 silver and 340 bronze were doled out.

Le Kim Hoa, Chairman of the Vietnamese Traditional Martial Arts Federation of HCM City, said that the two festivals offered a chance for Vietnamese martial artists to share experience with their peers from other countries and other localities. He also noticed great improvements in the skills of martial artists.
