Cao Bang welcomes first intrauterine insemination baby

The northern mountainous province of Cao Bang has welcomed its first baby conceived via intrauterine insemination (IUI), marking the development of the local health sector in applying advanced technology in treatment.

The girl, born on October 16, weighs 2.9kg.

This was the first successful IUI method conducted at Cao Bang General Hospital.

The hospital is currently conducting 10 more IUI procedures.

IUI helps infertile couples in the province give birth and reduces treatment time and cost.

According to the Ministry of Health, the infertility rate in Vietnam is 7.7%.
