Japanese firms explore investment opportunities in Binh Duong

A Japanese business delegation visited the southern province of Binh Duong on November 11 to explore investment opportunities, especially in automatic machinery industry.

During this visit, Japanese firms also want to study the province’s socio-economic situation as well as its incentives given to investors, said Tomoyuki Eguchi, head of the delegation from Hiroshima city’s Chugoku Bureau of Economy, Industry and Trade (Meti Chugoku).

Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Van Nam briefed the guests about the province’s clear investment environment and numerous incentives, and spoke highly of Japanese companies’ effective operation in the locality.

Local authorities vow to create the most favourable conditions for investors to develop their production and business, he said, adding that the province is calling for investment in support industries, hi-tech and environmentally friendly projects.

Japanese enterprises said they are pleased with Binh Duong’s investment environment and attraction policies, hoping that cooperation between Chugoku region and Binh Duong province will further develop in the future.
Earlier on November 10, the Japanese delegation joined a symposium on environmental pollution solutions.

Japan is the biggest investor in Binh Duong, with 225 projects capitalised at nearly 4.7 billion USD.

So far this year, Binh Duong lured 1.48 billion USD in foreign direct investment, exceeding its yearly plan by 47.7 percent. The figure raised the province’s total FDI attraction to 20.2 billion USD, naming it in the country’s 20 billion USD FDI club.
