Hua Hin residents pay homage to Rama 9
The Hua Hin Municipality is inviting all interested individuals staying in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province to join its ‘Walk to the Father’s Home’ or "ชาวหัวหินรวมใจ เดินไปบ้านพ่อ" event in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan province later this evening.
From there, mourners walk together for 2.5 kilometers to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Klai Kangwon Palace. Once there, mourners light candles and stand in respectful silence for 89 seconds, after which they sing the Royal Anthem to pay tribute to His Majesty.
The event has been being organized on a monthly basis since November 2016, and will continue until the end of the year.
Klai Kangwon palace, meaning ‘far from worries’ is a name derived from the peace and serenity of the surrounding landscape. The summer palace is situated on a secluded stretch of the Hua Hin beachfront.
Whenever the reigning King or members of the royal family are in residence at Klai Kangwon, Phetkasem Road is decorated with the corresponding royal flags, bearing the royal emblem and color of either the King or the particular member of the royal family staying there.
