Hanoi and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China held a conference in Hanoi on March 29 to promote co-operation in tourism.

Hanoi is emerging as a tourist destination in Asia, especially for tourists from Japan, the Republic of Korea, France, the US and Australia. The municipal tourism service has worked out a programme of action to promote ties with partners in Guangxi.

At the conference, industrial executives from the Vietnamese capital said they wanted to learn experience in tourism planning, management and personnel training from Guangxi, which is among the top ten Chinese provinces in these fields.

Guangxi has worked out a plan of action for the next five years, which calls for cooperation in personnel training with some tourist colleges in Hanoi.
The two parties signed a deal on bilateral cooperation for the years to come.

On March 30, the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region is expected to launch a tourism promotion campaign in Hanoi.
