Corruption prevention to be taught in schools

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has issued a directive asking schools to incorporate corruption prevention measures into curriculums the 2013-2014 academic year.

Directive 10/CT-TTg states that after a three-year pilot implementation, conditions are now in place to introduce anti-corruption measures into curriculums at educational institutions at senior high school level and higher.

PM Dung also requested the Government Inspectorate to check, approve and release necessary documents in order to train teachers on the issue.

The Government Inspectorate is also required to introduce an anti-corruption column on its website, offering information, advice and case studies of corruption cases at home and abroad to be used as reference for teachers and students.

Ministries, State agencies and provincial and municipal People’s Committees are responsible for overseeing the implementation of the directive at educational and training facilities under their management.
