Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Nguyen Phu Trong paid a working visit to the southernmost province of Ca Mau from December 8-9 to examine its preparations for the 11th National Party Congress.

During his working visit to Dat Mui commune in Ngoc Hien district, Mr Trong praised the achievements recorded by the district in socio-economic development. Over the past few years, Ca Mau’s political system has been strengthened, national security and defense has been maintained and local people’s living standards have been improved.

Mr Trong and his delegation acknowledged difficulties facing the Dat Mui commune as well as proposals made by local people on restructuring the economy, providing capital for production, finding outlets for farm products, developing transport infrastructure and human resources.

Mr Trong said to develop the socialist-oriented market economy, Ca Mau needs to implement the macro economic management policies effectively, boost socio-economic development, ensure social welfare and exercise social progress and equality.

He also asked Ca Mau to enhance human resources, and Party building in different economic sectors, especially in private and joint stock businesses.

At the meeting with the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, Mr Trong said the province has properly implemented the 1991 Party Platform and brought the 10th National Party Congress’s resolutions to life, enhancing local people’s confidence in the Party’s renovation process.

On the occasion, Mr Trong and his delegation also visited the Dong Khoi cooperative, the Dai Duong Seafood Joint Stock Company, the Ca Mau Gas, Electricity and Fertilizer Industrial Zone and soldiers from border post No 608 and the Ca Mau Border Guard High Commander.
