Dutch businesses will be able to uphold their strengths to achieve success in Vietnam with the support of the Vietnamese government, said Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

PM Dung affirmed this at a working session with senior officials of the Netherlands Council for Trade Promotion on September 30.

At the meeting, part of Mr. Dung’s visit to the country, he said the 2011-2020 socio-economic development strategy set an aim to make Vietnam a modern industrialised country by 2020.

Vietnam is also building a more environmentally-friendly economy to move towards a “green growth” model.

The Vietnamese PM also called on Dutch businesses to increase investment in Vietnam in various fields, especially in clean and renewable energy, bio-diversity, the environment, urban planning, and water management.

On the occasion, a number of lucrative cooperative agreements in ship-building, training and oil exporting were signed by Vietnamese and Dutch businesses.
