Nam in, Thien out at Men’s Futures tourney

No 5 seed Ly Hoang Nam advanced to the quarter-finals of the Vietnam Men’s Futures F7 tennis tournament in Binh Duong Province on October 19.

Nam easily trounced Japanese Ken Oshini 6-1, 6-3 in a 70-minute match.

Wild card Nguyen Hoang Thien was eliminated from the tournament after a 1-2 loss to Masato Shiga of Japan on October 19.

Thiên played equally to the No 3 seed in the first two sets, which ended 5-7 and 7-5, as both players lost a break point in the last games.
