For The Love of Life, an exchange programme organised for those who are suffering losses in their life, will be launched in Hanoi on December 3 with the participation of some 2,000 people.

According to director of the National Co-ordinating Council on Disabilities of Vietnam (NCCD) Nghiem Xuan Tue, the programme in Thong Nhat (Unification) Park is a humanitarian event for disabled people, people living with HIV/AIDS and volunteers working in other fields of social activity.

As part of the event, there will be 30 stalls displaying products made by disabled people, information booths introducing organisations who work with the disabled and people living with HIV/AIDS, and other activities.

On this occasion, the Organising Board will coordinate with the NCCD, the Steering Committee on Information Technology and the Informatics Magazine to present computers to the disabled.

The programme, held by associations for the disabled of Vietnam and Hanoi in coordination with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the UN Volunteers programme (UNV), aims to respond to calls from the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) on the occasion of World AIDS Day (December 1), UN World Volunteer Day (December 5) and the imminent approval of the Draft UN Convention on the right of Disabled Persons.
