VNUs named among top 150 Asian universities

The Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) and the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) have been listed among the top 150 Asian universities in the 2016 QS rankings.

The QS University Rankings was published by Quacquarelli Symond (QS), a well-known British educational consultant founded in 1990. The QS partnered with the weekly magazine, Times Higher Education (THE) to release the world university rankings between 2004 and 2009.

The VNU was ranked 139th this year, a great stride compared to the 191st place in 2015, while the VNU-HCM came 147th.
The VNU was placed 65th in the top 100 for Academic Reputation, 169th in the top 200 for Employer Reputation in Asia, and 62nd in the top 100 for the exchange of international students.

Additionally, the two national universities were named first and second among the QS top universities in Vietnam, respectively.

They were followed by Can Tho University, Hue University and the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) which have also been listed among the top 300 and 350 Asian universities of the QS.

The three public universities are all new to the Asian ranking this year.
