Idyllic Vietnam islands you've never heard of
VOV.VN - The Phu Quy are a group of 10 small picturesque islands off the beaten tourist track that offer unspoiled natural beauty with secluded beaches, lingering sunsets and seemingly endless seascapes.
They’re located roughly 103km off the coast from Phan Thiet City in the central province of Binh Thuan out in the Gulf of Tonkin. |
Each day a transport ship leaves the port of Phu Quy in Phan Thiet City to take locals and guests from the mainland to visit Phu Quy Islands. The fares are between US$6.70 (VND150,000) and US$9.00 (VND200,000) each way. |
There are also speed boats for hire that cost around US$15 (VND330,000). |
The best time to visit the Phu Quy islands is from March to August as at other times of the year strong winds creating sea waves and slow, rolling swells are a common occurrence that make it difficult or impossible to navigate the sea. |
