Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affair Pham Gia Khiem on September 19 received Chief Minister of the Northern Territory of Australia Clare Martin, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

During the reception, Mr Khiem congratulated Australia’s successful hosting of the 15th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit and expressed his sincere thanks to her Government and people for their fine sentiments about Vietnam.

 

The Vietnamese Deputy PM said Ms Martin’s visit to Vietnam is a good opportunity for the two countries to strengthen their cooperative relations. He hoped that Vietnam and Australia will seek measures to fully tap their cooperation potential, particularly in the field of trade, investment, education and training.

 

The Australian guest thanked her host for the warm welcome and briefly talked about the Northern Territory of Australia. She also expressed her wish to boost cooperation with Vietnam in such fields as education and training, mining and animal breeding.
