Coach Ferguson’s squad will make a tour of Asia in July this year for a series of matches, including those with China, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia - but not Vietnam.

The team will leave the UK for China on July 16, Seoul on July 20, and Jakarta on July 24.

Vietnam is not on the list of the team’s destinations, though the country offered up to US$2.47 million to invite MU, according to the French news agency, AFP.

The managing director of MU, David Gill, said at Macau that his club is elated at the support and cheering they receive all across Asia.

MU is among the most favourite clubs in Asia and has collected huge amounts of profit from its copyrighted television broadcasts. Gill said that the club does not intend to earn money directly from the trip. However, the team will have a good chance to establish close ties with multinational companies, which are likely to invest in the team later, he said.
