China - Vietnam people’s friendship festival to open
A 100-member Vietnamese delegation will attend the second China – Vietnam People’s Friendship festival in Liuzhou city, Guangxi province from November 17 – 20.
The delegation will be led by Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences cum President of the Vietnam – China Friendship Association.
The event is as part of activities under the 2010 – 2012 cooperation plan between the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations and the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
It will feature the China – Vietnam economic and trade forum, the China – Vietnam friendship forum, the signing of a friendship declaration, a friendship gala night and visits to President Ho Chi Minh’s former residence and businesses across the locality.
As the second largest city in Guangxi province, Liuzhou is where President Ho Chi Minh engaged in revolutionary activities from 1942 until 1944 and worked with Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai in 1954.
