Vietnamese doctor wins prestigious award in Asia-Pacific region's ophthalmology field
VOV.VN - Local doctor Dr. Nguyen Viet Giap was recently honoured with the prestigious Prevention of Blindness Award at the 38th Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) Congress held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
At the congress, Dr. Giap, director of Ba Ria Vung Tau Eye Hospital, and 17 other individuals from countries and territories throughout the region were granted with the prestigious award by Professor Ava Hossain, president of the APAO.
This represents the most commendable award in the field of ophthalmology in the Asia-Pacific region for those who have obtained outstanding achievements in the prevention and control of blindness.
With over 30 years of experience in the field of ophthalmology, Dr. Giap is a dedicated and highly skilled doctor who has had creative ideas and has made great contributions to ophthalmological examination and treatment activities.
Dr. Giap has so far had more than 50 scientific research projects and valuable creative ideas, helping more than 114,000 elderly people receive free medical examination and treatment.
