International women cyclists to compete at 14th Biwase Cup

VOV.VN - The 14th Binh Duong International Women’s Cycling Tournament, the Biwase Cup, is scheduled to take place from March 6 to March 15, with the event drawing the participation of 11 domestic and nine foreign teams.

The tournament will attract many strong athletes from Japan, Taiwan (China), Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Singapore.

This year will mark the first time that Iranian cyclists from the Crown Continental Team, one of the strongest clubs in Asia, will join the tournament.

With a total length of 1,158 km, female cyclists will compete in 10 stages, starting from Binh Duong province and travelling through to Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

They will conquer sloping passes such as Bao Loc and Prenn in the Central Highland province of Lam Dong, along with Vinh Hy in Ninh Thuan province.

Individuals will compete for three jerseys, with the yellow being given to the overall winner who will receive a cash prize of VND45 million, the green for the best sprinter with a cash prize of VND30 million, and the pink for Miss Biwase Cup with a cash prize of VND10 million.

Meanwhile, the winning team who secure the championship trophy will be awarded VND42 million.  Furthermore, the organisers will also give special gifts to disadvantaged children during the race.
