Quang Ninh police prosecute individuals for organising illegal exit

VOV.VN - Bac Son Border Station in Quang Ninh province said on April 3 that they have moved to prosecute four suspects who played a role in assisting groups of people to illegally cross Vietnamese border into China.

This comes after border guards noticed two suspicious men at 11:00 a.m. on April 1 as they were in the process of carrying two women on motorbikes in Cao Lan village of Bac Son commune in Mong Cai city.

Upon being questioned by police, the two men confessed to being hired to take the female passengers to the border area so they could attempt to illegally cross the country’s northern border into China. In order to carry out this task, the two men were paid VND2 million.

Upon expanding the investigation, police forces successfully caught Ninh A Thong, an individual who they believe to be the mastermind behind the case. He had previously negotiated directly with several Chinese nationals to take the women from Mong Cai city to China for a fee of CN¥1,600 per person.

At present the case is under further investigation.
