The establishment of the ties will create a firm foundation to boost multi-faceted cooperation between the two countries.

The event reflects Vietnam’s foreign policy of diversification and multilateralisation of international relations, and attaching importance to relations with Latin American nations.

The communiqué was sent to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to inform other UN members about the establishment of the diplomatic ties.
