Da Nang welcomes first flight from Manila
VOV.VN - The central city of Da Nang welcomed 177 passengers on December 7 on the first direct flight from the Philippines’ capital of Manila.
Tran Chi Cuong, vice chairman of the municipal People's Committee, and representatives from relevant ministries, departments, and the Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation JSC (AHT) arrived at Da Nang International Airport to present flowers and gifts to welcome the incoming passengers.
The event saw Cuong stress that the Philippines represents one of the new and potential markets for the central city’s tourism industry.
He went on to note that at the Asian route development forum 2022 (Routes Asia 2022), the city co-operated with low-cost airline Cebu Pacific Air in order to open a direct flight between Manila and Da Nang, helping restore and diversify the international market.
He expressed his hope that the flight route will contribute to increasing the number of tourists in the future.
The flight will run three times a week on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday using the Airbus A320neo.
As part of the occasion, the central city’s Department of Tourism will also welcome famtrip and presstrip groups from the Philippines, along with several Philippine Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to experience and explore tourism products and services arond Da Nang.
