Vietnam extends condolences to China over plane crash

VOV.VN - Vietnamese leaders have extended condolences to Chinese leaders over the tragic plane crash that happened on March 21.

The Boeing 737-800 of China Eastern Airlines carrying 132 people on board crashed in the mountains in southern China’s Guangxi region while flying from Kunming of Yunnan province to Guangzhou.

No survivors have been found among the 123 passengers and nine crew members, AP reported.

The Chinse Government decided to launch an investigation into the cause of the accident.

On hearing the news, Vietnamese State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc sent a message of condolence to Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh cabled a similar telegram to Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

The same day, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also sent condolences to China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
