Top 49 restaurants in Vietnam to join Goût de France

Forty-nine restaurants across Vietnam will join Goût de France, or Good France, 2019, which aims to promote French cuisine in March 21, the Consulate General of France in HCMC has announced.

They will prepare a French-style dinner featuring appetizers, main courses, cheese and dessert treats accompanied with wine and champagne.

Some of the popular names that take part in the event are L’Olivier, Square One, Annamite, Chanh Bistro Rooftop Saigon Calmette, Le Bordeaux, and Social Club in HCMC, La Riviera in Vung Tau City, The Square in Nha Trang City, Le Parfum in Hue City, Azzure and La Veranda Grill in Danang City, and Faifo Café, L’Annam, and Le Belleville in Hoi An City.

Gout de France will take place the same night in 150 countries around the world with the participation of thousands of restaurants.

Vietnam is one of the five countries that have the largest numbers of participating restaurants.

French Consul General in HCMC Vincent Floreani said he hopes the event will help the Vietnamese know more about traditional food and culture of different French regions.

As part of Goût de France 2019, the Consulate General of France in HCMC will offer a French-style breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and hold a workshop on French culinary training programs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 21.

There will also be a workshop on balanced and healthy diets at the General Sciences Library of HCM City, an exhibition on French cheese and ham, and screening of films about French cuisine at the Institut d’Echanges Culturels avec la France (IDECAF).
