Pianist Tran Thi Tam Ngoc and percussionist Tran Xuan Hoa will hold a concert at the French Cultural Centre in Hanoi, L’Espace, on August 18.

The performance will begin with slow and reflective works by Gabriel Faure, including Nocturne Op. 33, No. 2 in B major and Nocturne Op. 33, No. 3 in A flat major.

The concert will continue with pieces by Frederic Chopin and Alberto Ginastera.

The duo will also perform “Bai ca chim Ung”, a Vietnamese song from the Central Highlands.

Pianist Tran Thi Tam Ngoc won first prize at the 2004 Southeast Asia Chopin International Piano Competition in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. She has also won first prize in piano and symphony orchestra contests at the Boston School of Music in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Tran Xuan Hoa now plays percussion for the Vietnam Opera and Ballet Theatre and the ASEAN orchestra.
