Vietnam ready for citizen protection measures in Russia

VOV.VN - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam is developing citizen protection plans for Vietnamese expatriates in southern Russia amidst complicated situations there.

According to the ministry, security in the city of Rostov on Don and some southern regions of the Russian Federation has become complicated over recent days.

The ministry directed the Vietnamese Embassy and representative missions in Russia to closely monitor the situation and prepare plans to protect and support Vietnamese citizens, especially those living in the affected regions.

The ministry recommended that Vietnamese nationals residing in Moscow and southern cities comply with the laws and instructions of local authorities. They are encouraged to stay indoors, limit activities in large gatherings or not make long trips within the territory of Russia.

In the event of increased tension, evacuation plans should be put in place when necessary. The expats are advised to keep in regular contact with local Vietnamese associations and Vietnamese representative agencies in Russia for quick support.

The ministry warned that the situation might be more complicated and the expats should consider cancelling unnecessary trips to the cities of Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk and Rostov for safety reasons.
