Japanese businesses, especially small - and medium - sized enterprises consider Vietnam an attractive destination, according to Kohei Yanase, vice chairman of the Japanese Enterprises Association.

Speaking at a Japanese business conference held in Tokyo on February 1-2, Kohei Yanase said in Asia, Japanese enterprises are paying great attention to Vietnam, as well as China.


Mr Yanase said Japanese companies, especially small- and medium- sized companies considered Vietnam an attractive destination. In the near future, they will co-ordinate with each other to make a survey on the Vietnamese market and then plan to produce products which will be re-exported to Japan. Mr Yanase said Japanese companies are expected to manufacture products favoured by Vietnamese people.


Vietnamese economic counsellor Ha Kim Ngoc delivered a speech entitled “Vietnam – a potential investment destination” at the conference.
