The Ministry of Health launched a healthcare project funded by the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Hanoi on August 12.

The project, with a budget of US$33 million for the 2008-2009 fiscal year, will focus on curbing infectious diseases, preventing HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and non-infectious diseases and improving reproductive health, nutrition and food safety, according to a WHO representative.

Through the project, WHO will also help Vietnam better manage health service.
