Four teams to compete in WIKA Cup 2024 in mid January
VOV.VN - The international seven-a-side football competition the WIKA Cup 2024 will be held in Vietnam for the second time from January 11 to 1, with the participation of Nongpookao x Nongpoothan of Thailand, Kickerz of Malaysia, and local teams Dai Tu and Hieu Hoa-Quahaco.
Nongpookao x Nongpoothan is the second football team from Thailand to compete in the tournament. Last year saw Thai representatives Ghost Gate make a positive impression despite their 2-3 loss to Hieu Hoa-Quahaco in the final match.
Meanwhile, Kickerz of Malaysia are represented by footballers selected among talents from Kickerz Football Academy, not by those from Jcorp Data Sukan FC as in last year’s tournament.
This year the tournament is due to get underway from January 11 to 14 at the Hoang Mai Culture, Information and Sports Center in Hanoi.
Organisers will present awards for fair-play, best scorer, best goalkeeper, best coach, most favourite player of each match, and most favourite player of the tournament.
All matches will be live aired on the Vietnam Television Cable Corporation (VTVCab)'s channels and platforms.
