Vietnam Festival 2011 titled “Beloved Vietnam – Beloved Japan” closed at Yoyogi Park, Tokyo on September 19.

Addressing the closing ceremony, Vietnamese ambassador to Japan Nguyen Phu Binh, head of the organising board affirmed that this year’s event is unforgettable in his diplomatic career, as it has been imbued with friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnam and Japan.

Former Japanese Senator Iwao Matsuda, co-head of the organizing board said he has loved Vietnam and will love the country more than ever before. Japanese people have shared the same feelings.

Aaiya Saito, a volunteer for the festival said she was very interested in the event as volunteers had the chance to wear Vietnam’s Ao Dai (traditional dress) and could get it as a gift after the event closed.

Le Bich Ngoc, a young Vietnamese studying in Japan said that she was very happy to take part in the event which aimed to promote the country’s image, traditional customs and dishes.
