Tien Minh cruises into third round of BWF
(VOV)-Top Vietnamese badminton player Nguyen Tien Minh handily defeated long-time Spanish rival Pablo Abian 2-1 to advance to the third round of the 2014 BWF World Badminton Championships.
Minh decimated Abian 21-7 in the first set, but the Spanish rival fought back hard in the second set beating the Vietnamese player 21-19, tying up the match..
However, the third set was a rout 21-10 in favourof Tien Minh.
In the next round, the Vietnamese top star faces off with Danish 14th seed Viktor Axelsen.
In the women’s event, Vietnamese player Vu Thi Trang meets Chinese 2nd seed Shixian Wang in the third round of play.
