Laos, Vietnam work on compiling documents on NA ties

NA General Secretary Cuong said that Vietnamese NA leaders were appreciative of the visit made by Yiapaoher, considering it to be a vivid manifestation of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive ties of co-operation that exist between both sides.

The Lao guest therefore highlighted the strong development of bilateral ties, with collaboration between the two NAs becoming more effective and substantive over recent times.

Sharing experience in creating documents related to the NA history, NA General Secretary Cuong said that the NA Office has collaborated alongside leading experts in the field of historical science to compile and publish the four-volume History of the NA of Vietnam book series for the 1946 to 2011 period. In addition, it is currently continuing to research and compile files on the operation for the 2011 to 2026 period.

Priority should be given to collecting blank documents, especially during the war period, meeting historical witnesses and leaders of the NA through periods to exchange, interviewing, and taking notes to serve compilation work.

Furthermore, newly collected documents must be verified and accordingly appraised to strict and scientific processes, he said.

The Vietnamese official also affirmed the nation’s willingness to support and provide information to help Laos build documents on its NA history.

Speaking highly of the Vietnamese side’s ideas, the Laotian guest expressed his hope that that the Vietnamese NA will continue to share experience and give suggestions, as well as proposing researching the publication of a book on the history of traditional relations between the two legislatures in the near future.
