The Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) is building three passenger ferry boats as part of the Danish non-refundable aid programme to improve waterway traffic in the Mekong Delta.

Each of them, with a design capacity of 100-200 tonnes can transport 350 passengers and 20 automobiles. The total construction cost for the three ferry boats is estimated at VND20 billion (US$1.25 million). They are expected to be put into operation in October this year.
